Reeds Creek Elementary School District Interdistrict Request and Procedures

For parents who want their children to attend Reeds Creek Elementary School who live outside our attendance area, or for those who live within the Reeds Creek Elementary School attendance area wanting to attend schools outside our boundaries, an interdistrict request form signed by the superintendents of both districts is required.  This form is available below and at the district or school office of any county school.  Applications will be accepted beginning January 1st each year for the fall.

The interdistrict form lists procedures and timelines for processing your request, the basis for denying a request, and the process for filing an appeal to the Tehama County Office of Education Board.

For an interdistrict transfer request received by the district 15 or fewer calendar days before the commencement of instruction in the school year for which the transfer is sought, the district will notify the parent/guardian of its final decision within 30 calendar days from the date the request was received.

For an interdistrict transfer request received by the district more than 15 days before the commencement of instruction in the school year for which the interdistrict transfer is sought, the district will notify the parent/guardian of its final decision as soon as possible, but no later than 14 calendar days after the commencement of instruction in the school year for which transfer is sought.

In the event that an interdistrict request is denied because of limited space, the student will be placed on the waiting list.  The student’s parents will be notified when space becomes avaliable.  If a parent/guardian does not respond to the communication from the school after two attempts the student will be taken off the waiting list.
